Powering Colombia
Three 291-ton engines. Three 75-ton generators. One carefully coordinated power plant shipment.
Together with our long-standing partner DACOTRANS DE LATINOAMERICA COLOMBIA S.A., we handled the FOB delivery and vessel chartering for a power plant project in Cartagena, Colombia.
The cargo included:
- 3 engines, each weighing 291 tons
- 3 generators, each weighing 75 tons
- Additional accessories and project cargo
Each engine measured an impressive 14.24 x 4.26 x 6.32 metres.
Altogether:
- 26 units
- Approx. 2,900 CBM
- 1,707 metric tons
- 53 SOC containers
The oversized units were carefully lifted, positioned and loaded aboard MV INDUSTRIAL DIAMOND alongside the remaining project cargo for the onward voyage. Operations like this come down to close coordination between everyone involved, especially when individual pieces weigh close to 300 tons.
DAKO & DACO have built a strong track record handling power plant projects across South and Central America, and throughout the Caribbean. We are proud to continue that long-standing cooperation. A big thank you to DACOTRANS DE LATINOAMERICA COLOMBIA S.A. for the continued trust. Another major project cargo shipment on its way.
